![]() Birdville students are getting ready to head home for the summer. We know that their "connected" time will most likely increase. We want to make sure that BISD students have fresh reminders of safe surfing information and the tools and strategies they will need to be safe online. The Internet, Web 2.0, texting, and social networking sites provide valuable opportunities for learning, communication, collaboration, creativity, and innovation. However, surfing and texting can also leave our students vulnerable to privacy and safety threats. We must arm our students with age-appropriate knowledge and skills about issues such as privacy, safety, responsibility, cyberbullying, and appropriate texting. Our goal is for every BISD student to be safe and responsible digital citizens. ![]() BISD Teachers and Staff - We're Learning, Too! During Hang Ten Safe Surfing, Birdville teachers, staff, and administration will receive their own Top Ten Tips. We will review social networking guidelines for educators, safe educator Web 2.0 practices, student privacy laws, and more. We want to interact online safely and legally and be great role models for our students. |
